field trips...the city is our classroom Travel Field trips Field Trips to Rome, Venice, Naples, Pompeii, Cinque Terre and many other surrounding towns are organized by the school. These field trips are open to all students studying at SRISA. The fees are separate from the tuition and students may choose to attend as many or as few as they wish. In addition to the field trips that are scheduled during the semester, many instructors will coordinate trips to see special exhibits or museums that are relevant to their course curriculum. The school periodically arranges visits to the PecciMuseum in nearby Prato and the famous Gori collection in Pistoia, where students see important and provocative exhibits of contemporary art. An integral part of theprograms at Santa Reparata are the walking tours, field trips, and visits to local museums. Many of these events are integrated with individual classes. Most students will want to spend some of their weekends , and most of their fall and spring breaks visiting other Italian and European cities. Exceptionally low priced fares are available for students through the nearby travel offices. Click here for more travel info. Day trips Traveling from Florence is easy with Florence's excellent public transportation system, trips to other cities can be planned spontaneously. Popular weekend trips to such towns as Pisa, Lucca, Siena, San Gimingnano, Bologna, Arezzo, and Pistoia are a train or bus ride of less than two hours. Final Student Show At the end of every semester students have the opportunity to show the work they have completed throughout the semester. Friends and locals are invited to this event making it a very lively and exciting evening. |
