Through studio projects that engage broad topics in painting, students will begin to define their own personal interests and develop an informed individual aesthetic. This course leads students to develop a greater level of conceptual knowledge and technical skill, which prepares them for the self-generated problems of Advanced Studio and independent professional practice.Studio projects will be augmented by critical readings, illustrated lectures and visits to contemporary art exhibitions.
